Uddor Meanchey

Major Responsibilities

At the provincial level, the Uddor Meanchey Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries that shall be responded for the implementation and coordination of all activities of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Land Area

The total land area is about 6,748.44 km² that equal to 3.73% of the total land area Cambodia 181,035 km², which consisting of 193.28 km² or 2.86% are human settlements and infrastructures areas, 605.67 km² or 8.97% are agriculture land areas, 5,284.32 km² or 78.30% are forest areas, 104.86 Km² or 1.55% are water bodies, and the rest 560.31 km² or 8.30% are nonuse areas.

Population

The total population is 97,593 person or 0.7% of the total population 13,413,892 person in Cambodia (2001, provincial government data) with growth rate 2.4%, which consisting of 47,820 person or 49% are male and 49,773 person or 51% of female. In the above number are also consisting of 81,002 person or 83% are farmers, 225 person or 0.23% are fishermen, 3,415 person or 3.5% are traders, 12,951 person or 13.27% are government’s officers.
